Here yesterday, now gone ! While we bid adieu to 2014 and it makes way for 2015, it’s commonplace to retrospect about major SEO & content marketing strategies that prevailed in 2014 and of course envisaging what forthcoming 2015 has in store.

I am often labelled as more fixated with quality content than SEO. This is neither a disclaimer, nor am I trying to get rid of the image I have earned. No offense SEO champs !

If the answer is “Yes”, it’s not a good sign unless they REALLY have a marketer’s mindset. Why so? Google no longer works the way it would in 1998 when keyword repetition (even at the expense of quality), anchor text and link building was the recipe to rank higher on SERP. For some reason and particularly in India, most search engine optimization experts are unable to get rid of fossilized approach towards SEO. Google released 13 updates in 2014 alone and this doesn’t include refreshes taking place behind the scenes.

Factors such as keyword density cannot be ruled out, but understanding these crucial factors the Google way will help your SEO prospects a huge deal. Put user experience and quality content ahead of SEO and relax while Google does the needful for you. Neither SEO nor link building is a department anymore.
